Bhutto statement

Ok, just caught this over at Piglipstick [there is also a post about how a town in Vermont is considering arresting Bush and Cheney on sight for war crimes]. They are good internet hunters over there I tell you.

I was going to avoid talking about Bhutto's assassination, but when I saw this, I had to post it.

Scroll forward and listen to what she drops at 6:10 with utter nonchalance. I'm not going to speculate or rant or anything, I just thought it was important to point out.

Enjoy the continued revelations,

Bp

Hmmm.

My problem with conspiracy theory is that it all gets complicated very quickly.

What kind of conspiracy would it take to cover up the murder of Osama bin Laden? It would have to be truly vast, and include strange bedfellows, lions and lambs, mortal enemies, ... .

William of Occam's tonsorial blade serves well in these situations. The simplest explanation: she misspoke.

ok, we listened to the 6:10 comment abot 5 times. Jerry thinks it was a mistake. I have no comment at the moment. The entire situation is making me nauseated as it is.

Her death struck a cord in me, an ominous one.

I have no idea what to make of the statement. If it was a mistake, then nothing more will come of it. If it was her dropping some info, then there may be some more bits and pieces floating up in the world news in the next few weeks.

Even though the simple explanation is most likely true, I store stuff like this in the back of my head, just in case. I don't throw it out because the "obvious" says to.

I don't believe we see the whole picture, so what looks obvious to us, might be the most convoluted answer in the real world.

I agree that Bhutto's death is ominous. It's also another of the Bush crowd's fuck-ups. They supported Musharraf, but then decided they didn't like him (would his intituting or martial law made them blink if he were still on their people-we-like list?). So they recruit Bhutto to go in, further destabilize the government, and take power, putting someone we like back in the job.

Of course, this is not new to the Bush administration. We flipped on Noriega, we flipped on Saddaam Hussein, we even flipped on bin Laden.

Another case of humans trying to manipulate systems which are complex beyond understanding. We can make something happen, but we can't anticipate or control it.

As far as conspiracies go, consider these possibilities (in order of decreasing probability, IMO):

1. she inadvertently misspoke. Simple.
2. she deliberately misspoke. Interesting. Unclear what the intention of such a lie would be, but the scope, at least, is somewhat credible.
3. She spoke the truth. In this case, either (a) bin Laden's death has been covered up (by the Bush administration, for example, to keep the 'war on rights and liberties' oops, scratch that, 'the war on terror' alive) or (b) by a wide ranging international conspiracy; the latter would have to be so vast that I find it hard to believe.

Hmmm, maybe 3(a) ain't so far fetched after all... .Bhutto knew because she was the neo's new best friend in Pakistan.
