There are other schools of thought about how to deal with Humanure, such as the method espoused in The Humanure Handbook.
But they are much more hands-on. I think the right decision was made to use the most aesthetically pleasing method of composting in this situation. We mustn't forget, this is a toilet for a wedding, after all. Enjoy your widening horizons,
