Apparently, back in the day, one "method" of exorcising (killing?) vampires was to force open their mouth with a brick. The skull pictured above was found near Venice, Italy, according to this National Geographic article. There are some interesting tidbits and extra photos in the article if you are feeling so inclined. Enjoy not living in the middle ages, amongst plagues and vampyres and abbots (oh my!)
