Tasmanian Marsupial Wolf

One of the cooler animals I've encountered lately on the intartubes. The Tasmanian Marsupial Wolf is also known as a Thylacine. I prefer the longer, prosaic name, as Thylacine sounds like blood pressure medication to me.

I found this awesome site from the Australian National Museum all about the Marsupial Wolf. It has actual photographs (pretty damned rare) of the now-extinct animal, as well as pages and pages of information.

Enjoy learning about some of our relations that are no longer with us,

Bp

At some point you're going to have to go on a Safari of some kind.

You are right.

That Blitzen Trapper you posted rocks. Thanks for turning me on to them.

There has been reports some might still exsist, but no prober sitings, some of Tasmania is still fairly dense bushland so who knows.

Locally it's mostly called Tasmanian Tiger, never heard it called a wolf before.

Also called the Tassie Tiger (pronounced tazzie).

Me and my Sydney darlin' are going to go their some day - and find them. Old timers there insist there are still a few out there.

And on a side note: the luv says that flying into Hobart looks a lot like flying into Medford.
