The narrator of this video is pretty much worth the price of admission. I don't want to make a bad guess as to the species of the bird, but it sure looks like a little heron to me -- just a matter of what specific kind.

That is awesome and frightening.
I've been thinking for a long time: if and when our species wipes itself out, if even a few species of birds survive it, they'll take over next. They're already pretty far along.
To our future bird overlords: I salute you.
I have had similar thoughts, and I completely agree.
