Rachel Maddow and Bill Nye on Climate Change

Just because big winter storms are happening, doesn't mean "global warming" is false. For god's sake I'm tired of hearing this crowing from the right. In fact, it could be a proof that climate change is actively in progress creating that very storm.

Here is Bill Nye on the Rachel Maddow show addressing this sentiment directly.

The quote that says it best from Nye is, "there's more energy in the atmosphere, and this is stirring things up." The global climate is a complicated system, you heat one area and another could get very cold because of it -- thus the 'stirring things up' he's referring to.

Enjoy logic and reason applied to large planetary problems,

You know BPaul, I changed my views about this and it wasn't easy to do.
I saw Gore's film and resonated with the message and was as concerned as the next guy about what's happening. Until I dug into the matter and uncovered more.

It wasn't easy for me to change my mind because opposing man made climate warming hysteria puts me in the same corner as the stupid rightwing dullards like on Faux, even though I come to it from a completely different direction. They hate everything and anything that's different from their worldview and will latch onto the stupidity Rachel points out - "snowstorm means no global warming".

I found there really is conspiracy behind this. From badly placed temperature sensors to falsifying data to following where the money comes from and goes, there is a sinister agenda. Just knowing who's setting up the scams should be a huge red flag.

Bottom line for me is that there is change, the entire solar system including the sun is going through massive change, and the elites know this. What they're doing is forcing us to accept huge new measures of control by fooling us into thinking they can pin the changes down and "fix things". It's sort of like the Brit explorer who gets caught by natives and is about to be burned at the stake but wows the locals by knowing a solar eclipse is due, then promises to bring the sun back if he's let go.

I've definitely noted your opinion on this subject by keeping up on your blog.

Having done a cursory study of climate science in the process of getting my Biology degree recently, I have to say I find it absolutely impossible that putting tons and tons of gas and carbon into the atmosphere every year would have no effect whatsoever.

Now -- as Naomi Klein has so well pointed out-- that doesn't mean things aren't being rigged in some way or another to benefit the few, the corporate oligarchy, whatever phrase we want to use. This, too, is on my radar.

So I keep an eye out for both things. And although I cannot say how accurate the claims are and predictions, I do hold that human-made gasses and pollutants of all sorts strongly affect our atmosphere and weather. When I looked at the chemical reactions that occur, its impossible for me to believe otherwise. I don't pretend to have all the information, but for what I currently know, I'm sure something's happening because of "us."
